Mandheling Grade 1. A bit deeper than medium roast. Triple Picked.
A great Sumatran coffee should be full of 'body' which means it feels as though it were almost 'syrup' in your mouth. Where many coffee's are BRIGHT, Sumatra is deep and heavy. Don't think of it as being smokey, its not, a heavy coffee simply means that it it stays in your mouth a long time. Triple pick means what it says...an additional step is taken in the process of preparation, but still, Sumatran coffee looks just, well, pathetic. Its small, curvy somewhat broken look to it totally BELIES the quality of the coffee. Never would you think something so random could produce such a great cup of coffee. It does.
